Alison brings bold and unique leadership qualifications as a district leader, school administrator, teacher, and parent and national, state, and local civic leader, with a total of twelve years of school experience as an LA Unified teacher/principal, six years working in local district regional offices across L.A. Unified, and ten years at leading LA Unified at scale from cradle to career. Alison brings extensive experience with strategic planning and budget alignment to achieve instructional improvement, and believes in collective impact as evidenced by her affiliations and broad experiences.

Equity and access is at the heart of Alison's work as a leader in a forthcoming national project Defining US - focusing on sharing tools, strategies, and lifting student voice in support of those historically underserved. Her drive comes from the fact that she's the great-granddaughter of migrant farm workers, granddaughter of garment factory worker, and daughter of an auto mechanic. Strength and strong family bonds gave her the persistence to be a first-generation college graduate. This strength is not unique, as she sees the same resilience in hard-working students and families across L.A. Unified. Greatness is around the corner. Together, let's do "whatever it takes!"
