Black Life at Ed&IS

Black Life at Ed&IS

A virtual hub dedicated to increasing the visibility of our Black students and faculty and sharing relevant resources and information with our community.

The UCLA School of Education and Information Studies is committed to action against anti-Black racism. Our goal is to dismantle systemic and institutional racism across all areas of the school and become a community where all Black lives and contributions are valued and honored. We understand the urgency to engage in this work long-term and we are committed to the ongoing process of asking ourselves, as a community, “in what ways and places does anti-Blackness exist?” so that we may address those gaps to build and sustain a racially equitable school.
In response to the demands of the SEIS Black Bruins. The School of Education and Information Studies has created a new position in the Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion. We are happy to welcome Dr. Natacha Cesar-Davis as the new Assistant Dean of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Ed&IS.

These awards support students at Ed&IS who have demonstrated service and research/projects related to Black life.
